Vacancy Description:

Change, Grow Live are looking for Customer Service representative to work within a farm shop based within HMYOI Thorn Cross grounds. You will be selling fresh produce and other goods produced by prisoners within the establishment for sale to the public from its identified and refurbished outbuilding with public accessibility.

 

A partnership has been established to support the initiative which will include both CGL and HMYOI Thorn Cross. The ambition is for the enterprise to become self-sustaining.

The role will involve promoting the business and creating a customer base, working in a customer service role, the successful candidates will:

 

  • Set Prices
  • Ensure the service is run within allocated budget
  • Monitor stock and seasonal sales,
  • Organise sales displays,
  • Work with the community.

    The post-holder will have access to CGL and prison support, learning and development, whilst maintaining independence as a social enterprise.

In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:

  • Work flexibly as required
  • Work flexibly within an agreed number of hours of work to maintain an appropriate level of service provision (including evenings, weekends and banholidays as required)
  • Seek to improve personal performance, contribution, knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in appraisal, training and supervision processes.
  • Keep abreast of developments in services, legislation and practice relevant to the sector
  • Ensure the implementation of the all policies.
  • Contribute to maintaining safe systems of work and a safe environment.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post

 

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of local services and geography
  • Experience within retail or customer service role. 
  • Experience of setting up and developing services
  • Experience that demonstrates customer service, administrative and financial skills
  • The ability to work to output deadlines and financial constraints
  • Experience of staff supervision and managing teams
  • Well developed leadership skills
  • The capacity to innovate.

Qualifications Required:  

Maths and English Grade A-C

 

Training to be Provided:

NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service – one day per week at Vauxhall Road in Liverpool city centre plus Functional Skills in English and Maths if required

 

Expected Duration:

15 months

The prospect of a full-time role is here on successful completion of your apprenticeship programme

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
