An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Food Services Assistant in one of the country’s largest Colleges.

As a food services assistant you will be required to provide catering support for students, staff and college visitors. The College needs to have a reputation for consistently delivering and maintaining best-practice performance standards in all its hospitality provision across all college centers.

Duties and responsibilities will include –

• Assist in the preparation of food and snacks

• Keep the kitchen and restaurant areas in a clean and tidy state at all times

• Customer focused at all times, by being visible during service periods, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs

• Project a willing and helpful attitude to customers; to seek the appropriate knowledge of food items sold throughout catering areas and to keep areas and service counters clean and fully stocked

• Carry out the daily kitchen duties as indicated by the Centre Catering Supervisor

• Serve all customers in a polite and friendly manner ensuring an efficient and hygienic service

• Co-operate with all team members and undertake duties in the kitchen/service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered at all times

• Attend food safety and health and safety course as required

• Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and cleaned daily

• Help with receiving deliveries and storage of delivered goods

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a café/kitchen environment and must have basic knowledge of food preparation. You will have the ability to work as part of a small team and to dedicated time deadlines as the service dictates.
