Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)

We work with the city's leading universities and employers to offer a range of higher education qualifications, from HNDs to degrees and diplomas.

Our tutors are specialists in their subject area with many having both academic and industry experience, so students can benefit from their knowledge and develop skills which are extremely valuable to employers.

We also give our students the chance to get work placements with international brands or take part in activities linked with their learning and courses - from designing outfits for national fashion shows to taking part in international business forums.

School of Access to Higher Education

Welcome to the School of Access to Higher Education, and to the start of your academic journey to university. All of our Access to HE Diplomas are quality checked by the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency), the same institution that oversees the quality of university provision.

In all our courses, you can expect tutors who are inspirational, professional and diligent, with experience in both teaching Access and experience of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The ethos of our school is to ensure every student feels valued and supported, and that you enjoy your time studying with us. As a student within our school, you'll have full access to the wider college network should you need any additional support. From learning needs, financial needs, or emotional support we have staff who will help you succeed in your course. 

We have high expectations of all our students, so you can expect to be challenged in your studies and stretched to new academic levels of knowledge and understanding. This will help you succeed to your full potential and will stand you in good stead for the demands of higher education.

Please note that Access courses are aimed at students who are aged 19+ only.

College is much more flexible which suited me well. It also had a wider range of courses available to study than my school sixth form.

Liam Roberts successfully achieved A*, A, A Liam progressed onto the University of Greenwich.
