A full time driver trainer is employed to ensure the drivers are competent for every task they are required to perform, plus regular Behaviour Based Safety Training sessions and assessment.

Vacancy Description:

We have an opportunity for the right candidate to develop their administration skills working for a growing company based in Liverpool. The role involves supporting the office manager undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. An interest in accounting, whilst not part of the apprenticeship course, would be an advantage.

The main duties include:

  • Liaising with clients and drivers via email, phone and face-to-face.
  • Support with invoicing and producing reports
  • Typing Job Notes
  • Maintaining a database
  • Typing, filing and other administrative tasks as required
  • Administering the planning and progressing of driver journeys through the set procedures of the company
  • Receiving and Processing Orders
  • Liaising with customers and drivers over the phone and via e-mail.
  • Making onsite visits to understand the business and the journeys associated with freight.

General duties include:

  • Carry out Health and Safety duties as required

  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the general areas of responsibility of this post

  • To be responsible for delivering the highest standards of customer care.


Skills Required:

  • PC Literate

  • Some previous work experience would be a plus although not essential

  • IT Proficient

  • Excellent customer service skills

Qualifications Required:

GCSE’s grades A-C or 4-9 in English and Maths are desirable


Training to be provided:

NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin – one day per week at college plus Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT if required


Expected Duration:

12 months


Working Week:

40 hours per week

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

Time will be given for off-the-job training for the Business Administration course

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
