Vacancy Description:

 

We are looking to recruit a keen and personable individual as a (mainly) front-of-house, food service catering apprentice at our var& grill restaurant in Crosby. You must have a real interest in serving food and being a positive team member.

We are looking to recruit a keen and personable individual as a front-of-house, food service apprentice at our restaurant in Crosby. You must have a real interest in serving food and experiencing great customer services.

The job is mainly about serving customers and making sure that our restaurant is clean, presentable and your helping to serve great food and drinks.

You would take orders and serve customers with their chosen drinks or food orders. You do not need any particular qualifications to start in this job but you will need to be a good team-worker, have excellent customer service skills and be interested in food preparaiton.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • greeting customers as they arrive

  • taking orders for food and drink face to face at tables

  • serving hot food and hot drinks to the table

  • serving customers using a till system

  • making sure the premises are clean and tidy.

  • Some basic food preparation as required

 

Skills Required:

 

  • Customer service skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ideally previous experience of working in a food service environment will help but is not essential.

 

Personal Qualities required:

 

  • Positive personality
  • Great with people
  • Able to keep calm and positive in a pressured environment

 

Qualifications Required:

 

Ideally GCSEs in English and Maths grades A-C but these are not essential. A real interest in food /customer service and commitment to studies is the key to achieving this apprenticeship.

 

 

Training to be provided:

 

NVQ Level 2 in – Hospitality Services: Food Service one day per week at Duke Street site in Liverpool city centre plus Functional Skills Level 1 in English and Maths if required

 

 

Expected Duration:

 

12-15 months

 

 

Working Week:

 

From 30 hours per week - shifts to be agreed

This will include one day per week in The City of Liverpool College (term time only)

 

 

Future Prospects:

 

The prospect of a full-time role is here on successful completion of your apprenticeship programme

 

 

Reality Check:

 

This role will mean you are mainly on your feet and will include working until late on some shifts.

 

 

Important Information:

 

Willingness to keep the premises clean and tidy therefore some basic cleaning duties are required.

 

Other Important Information:

 

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
