We are proud to announce that The City of Liverpool College was named Skills Provider of the Year last night (24/10/24) at the Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards 2024 held at St George’s Hall.
At a glittering ceremony attended by more than 500 guests, the College was presented with its prestigious award in recognition of the commitment to driving forward new and innovative training through its employability, professional development and apprenticeship programmes. The College was also commended for its wide-ranging employer partnerships that have been integral to student progression and the development of new training facilities that support the region’s Net Zero targets and enhance workforce productivity. Key initiatives include the College’s specialist heat pump training centre supported by Vaillant and the North West Net Zero Energy Hub, as well as the range of Skills Bootcamp programmes being delivered in conjunction with Peel Ports, Sodexo Live! and Nugent.
Pete Sandman, Commercial Director at the College said: ”We are delighted to have won the award and it is testimony to the range of initiatives the College has put in place to respond to the City Region’s skills needs and ambitions for economic growth.”
Elaine Bowker, Principal and CEO, said: ”We have an incredibly strong network of employer partners that support the College to develop innovative skills programmes and attract investment. As the College for Business, we are committed to meeting the emerging skills needs of employers, helping people into higher skilled jobs. This award is recognition of the contribution the College is making and demonstrates that our programmes are clearly on the right path.”
The Liverpool Chamber Awards is one of the highlights of the business calendar, attracting a large audience from organisations across a range of sectors in the region. Winners of the awards were selected from more than 140 nominations spread across 15 separate categories.
