A Vehicle Damage Paint Technician works in the vehicle body repair sector of the motor industry. The role is to prepare, spray and finish vehicles that have been involved in collisions and other incidents in an efficient manner.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Typically, the Accident Repair Technician works in a modern highly technical workshop-type environment, working on a broad range of vehicles from cars and car derived vans to light and heavy commercial vehicle
Uniquely, they work on and obtain a level of competence in all craft aspects of vehicle accident repair, including Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (MET); Panel Repair & Replacement; – not just one as has been the case in the past
Additionally, the Accident Repair Technician is able to interpret and work accurately to detailed and complex technical repair specifications / instructions and, at times, obtain these instructions from a range of electronic sources
An Accident Repair Technician has the ability to work in a focused, analytical and methodical fashion, completing repairs on time, every time with a right-first-time, customer focused culture under-pinning all their activities

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentices will attend The City of Liverpool College on a day release basis, working towards their Level 3 Vehicle damage paint technician apprenticeship programme
Apprentices without Level 2 maths and English will also be enrolled on Functional Skills as part of their apprenticeship programme

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Successful completion of this apprenticeship may lead to a full time role as a qualified Vehicle Damage Technician

Monday – Friday, Exact shifts to be confirmed
