Course Details

  • T Levels are new technical qualifications - designed with industry leaders.
  • Five days a week, 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a relevant industry placement.
  • The duration of the course is two years, and you’ll ultimately achieve an equivalent of three A Levels.
  • You will have access to a variety of hardware and software, such as our Peel 3D scanner, resin printers, laser cutter and motion capture suite.
  • This course is a 2-year programme, both years must be completed.
  • The course will initially run over 4 days in college – 9am till 4pm. 315 hours of placement.
  • Start: September.

Programming (mainly Python but others will be looked at)
Emerging issues and impact of digital
Legislation and regulatory requirements
Business Context
Data
Digital environments
Security
Interview/ CV writing/ building up transferable skills in preparation for placement
315 hours of placement

How is it assessed?
Year 1:
Core Component Assessments
Core paper 1 – 2hours 30 minutes (May exam)
Core paper 2 – 2 hours 30 minutes (May exam)
Employer Set Project – Made up of four tasks, before you start will be provided time to complete research and prepare. The tasks will then be worked through under exam conditions. (May/ June exam)

Year 2:
There is opportunity to re-sit the core component assessments in November if required.
Occupational Specialist Component Assessment
This is a large project. The project begins in February and will be given until May to finish it. In total 67 hours will be given to complete it.

Qualifications

T-level in Digital Production, Design and Development (equivalent to 3 A-levels)
315-hour Industry placement
Tutorial will be part of the study programme to develop life skills, build confidence to progress in your career journey. You will be supported in interview practice and CV writing, as well as transferable skills that can be taken into the workplace.

Maths and English competencies will be embedded into the framework for T-levels.

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.


Career pathways

The purpose of this qualification is to ensure that you have the knowledge and the skills to progress into highly skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study.

You would be able to progress onto our HNC in computing or BA in Games design here at The City of Liverpool College University Centre.

Entry Requirements

The course is open to learners aged 16-19 only.

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English. Or a level 2 qualification in a relevant subject at merit and above. Once you apply you will be invited in for a group meeting to tour the college facilities, team building activities and to meet the team.

Fees

This course is only available to learners aged 16-18 at the start of the course and is free.
