Essential Digital Skills — Entry Level 3 - September Start

Course Details

  • Research shows that 82% of advertised jobs require some level of digital skills, with 75% of jobs by 2030 requiring advanced digital skills.
  • This is a perfect course for anyone over the age of 19 that has no IT experience and would like to develop their knowledge and digital skills to support them in the world of work.
  • Start dates: September and January.
  • This course is free for all eligible learners.
  • The course is 2.5 hours a week and can be completed in 18 weeks.

What to expect from the course

You'll learn the following skills across 5 modules:

Using devices and handling information
Creating and editing
Communicating
Transactions and buying online
Being safe and responsible online

This course is suitable for learners agbed 19 and over with no prior digital skills. No prior qualifications are required.

The course is assessed using a combination of a question paper and task-based activities under exam conditions.

On completion of the course, you can progress through to our Level 1 course in Essential Digital Skills to continue to further your IT knowledge and digital skills.

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Fees

If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free. If you are aged between 19-23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, you won't have to pay any fees for this course.
