What to expect from the course

This course is the perfect first step towards a career in one of the most exciting industries there is – Media Production. If you dream of working in TV, being a film director or a video editor, then this is the course for you. Liverpool’s only integrated media course at a large city centre college campus, this is the perfect alternative to resitting your G.C.S.E’s. As well as a full study programme, you will also have the opportunity to undertake relevant work experience for media outlets across Merseyside.

Led by a team of former media professionals, this programme is designed to introduce learners to the fast-paced environment of Broadcast Media. You will learn by investigating the world of media and completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations.

Successful completion of the course will give you the opportunity to progress to a related higher education course, or a career in the creative media sector in a wide variety of job roles.

This is a unique media course which encompasses traditional broadcast and modern technologies found in the any multi-media environment. So if you want to be a director, filmmaker or editor look no further. By the end of the course you will know how to source, edit and produce digital content and have a portfolio of engaging and exciting moving image projects to show employers. Modules on this one year course include News, Single Camera, Multi-Media and Multi-Camera.

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free.
