What to expect from the course
- Level 1 Teaching Assistants (STL) is a course perfect for you, if you are interested in pursuing a career as a Teaching Assistant.
This course will introduce you to the skills and knowledge needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary or secondary schools.
The course is shorter in duration (12 weeks), is aimed at adult learners and is college based. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress on to level 2 Teaching Assistants on completion of this course. The course is comprised of 3 internal units and is assessed through coursework.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free
When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.
Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite
The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Entry Requirements
None. This course is aimed at adult (19+) learners who do not currently have the necessary skills and knowledge required to engage in a work experience course.

Fees
If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free. If you are aged between 19-23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, you won't have to pay any fees for this course.
