  • This course provides essential skills and knowledge for anyone wanting to work in local authorities, schools, colleges, uniformed services or health and social care, supporting students to gain an awareness of Safeguarding and the Prevent duty and how to apply these principles daily.
  • Also ideal for those people looking to volunteer in their local community.

What to expect from the course

In 2019, a total of 5,738 individuals were referred to Prevent programme, with the education sector accounting for 33% of this number. Safeguarding is an essential part of any role that involves working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.

This nationally recognised Level 2 qualification delves into various aspects of safeguarding, including identifying signs of abuse, understanding legal and ethical responsibilities, implementing effective reporting procedures, and ensuring the well-being of children and young adults.

On successful completion of your study you will achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 NCFE/CACHE qualification, be able to evidence your competency to employers, further your personal and professional development and know how to recognise signs of abuse or potential harm

This course is delivered fully online with support from one of our experienced tutors, you will be able to learn at a time that suits you without the need to attend college in person.

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course you must have turned 19 years of age before the 31st August 2024, have a Grade C or 4 in English, have good IT skills, and access to a PC or laptop with access to the internet.

All learners are expected to submit assessments by the agreed dates and regular contact with your tutor will ensure that you are supported to do this.

Funding eligibility will be assessed during the online enrolment process.

Once enrolled you will be contacted by your assigned tutor who will organise an induction with you.

This course is only available to learners aged 19 and over.
If you are unemployed or earning less than £33,958.60 a year? You may qualify to join this course for free.
