Progress Leader Team

Across all five sites we have a Student Hub which houses Progress Leaders, Work Experience officers, Careers Advice and Guidance and the Welfare and Wellbeing team. This is a central space for all students to come and request support and discuss opportunities within their student journey. All 14–19-year-old students will be allocated a progress leader within their study programme who will support and challenge them during their time in college, to ensure all students develop into their true potential whilst with us. Make sure you come and find us within your first week so we can introduce ourselves and tell you how we can support you further.

Visit us at my.liv-stu.co.uk to find out more about what’s going on.

Students’ Union roles - Paid positions available for students!

In September we will be holding elections for a President and Vice President of the Students’ Union. Roles are open to all students aged over 16 years.

Positions are part time (approx. 10 hours per week) and paid (£11.18 per hour).

These roles are flexible around your studies. Duties include:

  • Managing the SU budget
  • Managing the Students' Union Parliament meetings
  • Working with the student parliament to make key decisions about how budgets should be spent and which events/campaigns the parliament would like to organise
  • Organising and running events

It is a great opportunity to gain lots of experience in a job with plenty of responsibility, whilst being mentored by experienced staff. It will also look great on your CV to employers or on a UCAS application.

Alongside paid positions there are opportunities to run for voluntary Executive Officer roles including women’s officer, Higher Education officer, LGBTQAI+ officer, disability officer, BAME officer and officers for each campus.

If you are interested in running for one of these roles or want to hear more, please complete the expression of interest form and someone will contact you in September.

Study Programmes

What are they?

They are education and training programmes that are available for learners aged 16-18 (up to 25 if you have an EHCP). They support learners to gain vocational / technical qualifications as well as wider skills needed for employment or further education and training.

Why are they important?

Study programmes are designed around you as a learner, your prior achievements so far and where you hope to gain a career. They are called Study Programmes because they offer so much more than just a qualification - they consist of other key elements which together create a package of learning around you and your requirements.

What do they comprise of?

Your study programme is relevant to industry requirements, skills, knowledge, behaviour and occupational standards across a wide range of career areas to help prepare you for your future career.

Your study programme will have 6 key elements:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Main technical and professional qualification
  • Development of employability skills and work-related experience
  • Personal and professional development
  • Group and personal tutorial
