ESOL
As a member of our college community, we offer you a fantastic learning experience! You will improve your speaking, reading and writing skills, gain confidence and find it easier to live, work and study in the UK.
Finding Us
The College has five campuses, each with specialist equipment and outstanding facilities to get you ready for that next step. As a City of Liverpool College student, you have access to any of our five main sites to use our facilities - you can find us here:
Resources
Timetables
To access your timetable, you’ll need to log in to your Student Portal (ProPortal). As this involves some personal details, we sent these to you separately in an email when you enrolled.
Can’t access your timetable or have some questions? Just call us on 0151 252 3000 or email at enquiry@liv-coll.ac.uk – we’re here to help.
ProPortal LoginStudent ID
You’ll need your student ID card to access any of our buildings. Your student ID card must be worn at all times while you’re at College. This is for safety, and also allows you to access different CoLC benefits and parts of our buildings.
If you didn’t collect your ID badge at enrolment, don’t worry! You can pick one up from the reception area at any of our five campuses when you come into college.
Financial Support
Some students can receive financial support at college, for example free meals or travel passes.
Click here to apply for financial support. You’ll need your college email address and password, which you’ll find in the email we sent you when you enrolled.
Got a question about financial support? AskAnn@liv-coll.ac.uk.
If you need childcare, we may be able to help! Click here or email childcare@liv-coll.ac.uk for more information.
Student Intranet and Libraries
MyHub is our very own student intranet. You can access MyHub at https://colc.sharepoint.com/sites/MyHub.
To log into MyHub, you’ll need your college email address and password, which you’ll find in the email we sent you when you enrolled.
There is a Learning Resource Centre (library) in each college building. Information on the service, resources and access to the LRCs is available here.
Progress Leader Team
Across all five campuses, we have a Student Hub which houses Progress Leaders, Work Experience Officers, Careers Advice and Guidance and the Welfare and Wellbeing team.
This is a central space for all students to come and request support and discuss opportunities within their student journey. All our students will be allocated a progress leader who will support and challenge them during their time in college, to ensure all students develop into their true potential whilst with us. Make sure you come and find us within your first week so we can introduce ourselves and tell you how we can support you further.
Student support and wellbeing services
As a City of Liverpool College student, you have access to a wide range of welfare and wellbeing services. Our Welfare and Wellbeing Team is here to support every student during your time with us. You can find out more about the support and services we offer by clicking here.
You can also access the Wellbeing Hub on our website, which provides full details of how we can help you.
Your First Week / Transition Week
What is Transition Week?
Transition Week is when all students are welcomed to the College. It ensures you feel safe and comfortable in the environment so you can make the most out of your time here. Transition Week takes place during your first week of college. All students will be invited to attend Transition Week activities from 9th September to 13th September.
This week will give you an opportunity to get familiar with your course and college life. You will meet all your tutors and support staff and receive all the information you need to be successful this year.
What will Transition Week involve?
All students are expected in college during this week to take part in welcome activities. Just turn up on the day of your first timetabled session and we’ll take it from there.
Activities during this week will include:
- Getting to know other students on your course
- Tour of your college campus site
- Introduction to your subject tutors, information about your study programme and expectations
- Completion of any initial assessments you might need to take for maths, English, etc
- Introduction to your Personal Development Sessions
- Review of any support you might need outside of your course
- Introduction to the College’s digital systems and completion of a digital survey
- Uniform/PPE/kit allocation (if required)

Students’ Union
Get involved!
The City of Liverpool College Students’ Union (CoLCSU) is run by students, for students. It’s a place where individuals connect, have fun, build communities, share experiences and can influence change! Every learner at the College is automatically a member of CoLCSU.
You can view our enrichment booklet online by clicking here.
We also have a number of paid student union positions (part-time) as part of the SU Executive team, which are appointed to as part of an annual student election – you can learn more about this via the Student Union.
You can also view our enrichment booklet online by clicking here.
